PICTURE YOURSELF ON THE TEAM

Super Joy Studios is seeking an absolute WIZARD of a Senior UEFN Developer to join our team and help us create stunning and engaging maps for Brands and our Fortnite players. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and some experience using Unreal Engine Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). As a Senior UEFN Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing new maps and game modes in Fortnite Creative at an expert level. You will work closely with and help to develop a team of game designers, artists, and developers to create seamless and enjoyable gameplay experiences for our players.

Primary Functions

• Play a critical decision making part of the design and development decisions of custom maps and game modes using UEFN, UE5 and third-party tools.
• Collaborate and guide game designers, artists, and developers to ensure map and game functionality and aesthetics meet requirements.
• Utilize scripting and programming to implement custom game modes and mechanics.
• Conduct final tests of maps and game modes to ensure functionality and stability before they go live.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest Unreal Engine, Fortnite Creative and Fortnite updates and features to integrate into maps and game modes.
• Collaborate with fellow developers and environmental artists at a variety of experience levels to integrate game mechanics and assets according to client specifications.
• Write exceptional, well-documented, and maintainable blueprints and codes.
• Be the final go-to for debugging and troubleshoot issues. Lead implementation solutions to improve stability and performance. Including EOD and server back-end issues.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members. Utilize feedback provided to improve code and meet brand expectations.
  
  

• Strong Bonus: Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience developing custom maps or gaming experiences using Unreal Engine or similar programs, or Fortnite Creative mode.
• Wizard-like understanding of Unreal Engine or similar programs. Expert understanding of gameplay mechanics, object material textures/nodes, and character animation/ motion capture.
• Blue Shell bonus: Experience building Fortnite Creative Maps or gaming experiences. Playing Fortnite and its Creative Modes.
• An impressive familiarity with gaming, anime, pop-culture, and content creation trends.
• Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine, including experience with blueprints, animation systems, and network replication.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages and object-oriented design principles.
• Familiarity with industry-standard software packages, such as Photoshop or Illustrator, Jira, and Confluence, Blender, Maya or 3ds Max.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven past experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
