Dexerto are looking for a full-time Senior Staff Writer who can write and manage our editorial content at the weekends during US hours.
A North American-based journalist with some experience, It will be your responsibility to source and write stories that will continue to drive the growth of Dexerto.com’s editorial content across gaming, entertainment, esports, TV and Movies and tech. You’ll be on top of all trends impacting our content output and following our content strategy and tone of voice.
Key to your role will be leading the weekend team of writers, ensuring they have stories to write and their copy is of a high standard. As such, you'll be an excellent writer and proof reader, with good eye for a compelling story and headline. A passion for gaming and gaming culture is essential as you'll be covering everything from news and tips for new releases to esports tournaments, TV and Movies, and Twitch streamers and YouTubers. The ability to write about Pokemon is desirable.
Knowledge of SEO is essential while some analytics experience is desirable.
This is a full-time position and following the weekend shift, you'll be expected to support the senior editorial team in the week by continuing to write compelling stories for Dexerto.
Key Requirements
Knowledge of gaming, esports, TV and Movies and content creators (YouTubers, Twitch streamers, etc)
News writing experience
Headline and copy editing experience
Creative ability - can demonstrate ability to deliver editorial ideas
SEO knowledge
Has worked with a CMS, preferably Wordpress
Data analysis experience, preferably Google Analytics
Photoshop (or similar design software) experience
Ability and willingness to work weekends
