We are seeking a Senior SEO Engineer expertise to lead our SEO efforts from the engineering side. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly skilled and innovative individual with a robust background in both SEO strategies and Python. This role is perfect for someone who has demonstrated expertise in enhancing website visibility, understanding search engine algorithms, and leveraging data analysis to drive SEO success. Responsibilities:
SEO Analysis and Strategy:
- Developing and implementing SEO strategies w/ SEO Manager to improve website visibility and ranking on search engines. This includes keyword research, analyzing competitors, and understanding search engine algorithms.
Website Auditing and Optimization:
- Conducting technical SEO audits of websites to identify areas of improvement. This involves optimizing website structure, improving site speed, ensuring mobile-friendliness, and resolving crawl errors.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilizing Python for data analysis and reporting. This includes creating scripts to automate data collection, processing large datasets, and generating insights from data to inform SEO strategies.
Automation and Tool Development:
- Developing custom tools and scripts in Python and/or other languages to automate various SEO tasks, such as tracking rankings, backlink analysis, and content optimization.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with web developers, content creators, and marketing teams to implement SEO best practices and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Technical Problem Solving:
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical SEO issues that may arise, such as fixing broken links, addressing duplicate content issues, and improving website navigation.
Content Strategy Support:
- Assisting in the development of content strategies based on keyword research and SEO analysis, ensuring that content is optimized for search engines.
Link Building and Off-Page SEO:
- Managing and strategizing programmatic link building campaigns and other off-page SEO efforts to enhance the website’s authority and search rankings.
User Experience and Accessibility:
- Ensuring that the website is user-friendly and accessible, which is a crucial aspect of SEO.
Staying Updated with SEO Trends:
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, search algorithm updates, and best practices. Applying new techniques and strategies to maintain and improve search rankings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven proficiency in Python programming and experience with Django framework.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in SEO, with a strong understanding of all aspects (technical, on-page, and off-page).
- Experience with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Moz, SEMrush, or similar.
- Solid understanding of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with database technologies commonly used with Django (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Skills in data analysis and visualization using Python libraries like Pandas and Matplotlib.
- Experience in automating SEO and other repetitive tasks using Python.
- Knowledge of web standards, protocols (HTTP/HTTPS), and RESTful API integration.
- Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and updates in SEO and web technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Understanding of mobile optimization principles and techniques.
