About The Role
Pursuit seeks an experienced content marketer for a contract position (40 hours per week) to help build and implement effective marketing strategies for Pursuit, enhance our digital footprint and brand recognition among key stakeholders; and build structure and consistency across all marketing materials. The contract position is for four months, with the possibility of extending it or it leading to a full-time position.
The Content Marketing Manager will work under Pursuit's Communications team, which supports Pursut's work through internal comms, press/media relations, storytelling, social media, promotional/informational materials, branding, etc. The team also works with Pursuit's senior leadership team, business development team, etc., on fundraising efforts, recruitment, grant support, internal and external projects, and internal messaging and information platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Creating a marketing strategy that will increase awareness of Pursuit programmatic work, and various issues among key stakeholders, including low-income communities, policy makers, elected officials, funders, community groups, and others;
- Identifying compelling story ideas and original content as well as developing a plan for and managing key marketing calendars for a variety of digital content;
- Managing and enhancing the organization social media platform, websites, and its digital presence;
- Working across the organization to create and maintain numerous tailored marketing collateral that highlight Pursuit's various components, including one-pagers, digital flyers, infographics, and recruiting and fundraising materials;
- Working across Pursuit to create marketing materials for community engagement events and activities;
- Assisting with collaborating with partner organizations, coalition and community groups, and policy makers on digital campaigns, social media strategies, and advocacy efforts
- Work with Pursuit's fundraising team to engage donors, employers, and stakeholders, as well as assist with preparing for annual events and related promotional materials;
- Assist the Brand and Communications strategies as needed
- Leverage, reuse, and repurpose existing high-performance assets to increase reach and visibility
- Ensure created content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice. Be a steward of best practices in messaging, grammar, writing, and style
What you need to be considered for Content Marketing Manager role:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a content marketing role
- Experience using data insights as a differentiator in external marketing materials
- Experience with content management, analytics, and social media tools, including Squarespace and Google Analytics
- Strong writer and editor with ability to write for various audiences
Bonus points for:
- Experience in a mission-driven organization and/or startup environment
- Employer brand marketing experience
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web publishing
- Video creation, editing experience
