Hello! My name's Amelia. I'm an Assistant Producer here at YAP MEDIA.
We need a Full-Time Copywriter to support our podcast production team by writing show notes and ad copy, conducting research, and supporting with admin tasks so that our Producer can focus on content curation and project management.
The ideal person wants to learn and grow in a long-term partnership (2 years minimum, 3-5+ years preferred), is creative, has exceptional attention to detail, is obsessed with delivering high-quality writing for their clients and team, has a growth mindset, and is aligned with our company values.
YAP MEDIA (yapmedia.io) works with top influencers and podcasters to help them grow their online following and monetize their content. We are a fully remote company with 40+ team members around the world. Some of our clients include hosts from Shark Tank, the world's #1 Executive Business Coach, and Top Podcasters who receive 1 Million+ downloads a month and regularly rank as the #1 podcast in their niche on Apple Podcasts.
Below you'll find the outcomes you'll be assessed on and the competencies required for this role:
OUTCOMES:
- Take over the writing of show notes for podcast accounts within 15 days.
- Take over the writing of advertisement scripting for podcast accounts within 30 days.
- Take over the completion of basic research for podcast guests within 30 days.
- Take over the scripting of podcast intros/outros within 45 days
- Take over the creation of podcast episode titles within 60 days (with support from Producer)
- Take over the writing of social media post copy for podcast-related social media content within 60 days
- Take over the posting of new podcast episodes to our podcast hosting provider by April 1st.
ROLE COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to write enticing copy that piques curiosity in reader
- Ability to follow copywriting SOPs closely, while also knowing when to deviate if appropriate/necessary
- Ability to write engaging copy in clients’ voices for advertisements based on brand talking points
- Ability to provide episode scripting team with useful research that is accurate and error-free
- Ability to learn client voices to tailor writing style to clients' speaking style
- Ability to write enticing podcast titles / social media headlines that peak curiosity
- Exceptional English skills, particularly written. Can speak and write clearly and articulately.
- Attention to detail. Does not let important details slip through the cracks.
- High standards. Expects personal performance and team performance to be nothing short of the best.
- Organization and planning. Plans, organizes, and schedules tasks in a productive manner.
- Creativity/innovation. Ability to contribute creative ideas to improve company standards and SOPs.
