Position Summary:
In this role, you will be primarily supporting the revenue recognition function, including the review of complex contracts, sales orders and purchase orders to assess the proper revenue recognition treatment. In addition, you will work with the CFO to develop practices and policies to ensure accounting records are accurate and complete.
*This is a remote position and candidates are ideally located within the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Establishing controls to ensure deferred revenue balances and revenue forecast are compliant with GAAP.
- Preparing journal entries relating to revenue and other areas as assigned.
- Prepare complex customer billing and handle collections activities.
- Research billings issues; provide support to internal and external customers.
- Prepare Sales Tax Returns
- Support process improvement initiatives related to reporting
- Other accounting duties, as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years accounting experience with a combination of public accounting and/or software industry experience (revenue accounting)
- Experience with revenue recognition within a SaaS company is highly desired
- CPA (preferred)
- Familiarity with new revenue standard ASC 606 helpful, but not required.
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Sales Tax Return experience
- Additional experience in International accounting, a plus
- Candidates should be highly motivated and enjoy a hands-on, customer-focused environment
- Advanced Excel skills are required including experience with Pivot Tables and Vlookups
- Microsoft Dynamics experience would be a plus
