ABOUT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION

As the most senior staff member of The Centre, reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is a full-time position, responsible for the organization's day-to-day operations. As the Centre's first full-time Executive Director (ED), you will lead an organization that is still in its formative stage. The ED should have a passion for fostering DEI in organizations, an ambition to grow and develop the ED role, and commitment to help The Centre meet its audacious goals. To keep the work of The Centre in the forefront of the DEI field, the Executive Director works in collaboration with the Board of Directors to develop organizational strategy and build new activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Executive Director position include the following.

  • Board Development and Management
  • Fundraising and Communications
  • Programs, Products and Services
  • Staff Recruitment and Management
  • Fiscal Management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree or equivalent experience and demonstrated expertise in the field of DEI or related field.
  • Organization and project management skills.
  • Understanding of nonprofits and experience working with Boards of Directors.
  • Communication skills, both written and oral, and strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to raise the visibility of the organization through successful marketing including expansion of stakeholders.
  • Commitment to the mission and goals of The Centre.
  • Proven experience in fundraising and/or conducting business development.
  • A successful history of managing, motivating, supporting, and leading teams.
  • A minimum of three years of experience with finance, controls and budgeting, including the ability to read, understand, and act on financial reports.
  • Ability and commitment to relationship management.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a demonstrated capacity to launch and run new projects.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The annual salary range for the position is USD$ 80,000 to 100,000 (a. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. The Executive Director's location and cost-of-living will be used to determine the appropriate compensation level.

The Centre provides benefits including a range of medical benefits and personal time off. The new ED will have an opportunity to build a benefits package for the organization.
