Job Brief
We are looking for a Account Executive/Business Development Representative to unlock new business opportunities by finding, contacting and developing relationships with potential cannabis business clients. You will roll up your sleeves to find the best ways to reach these potential clients and then use your communication skills to understand their needs and pitch the value of the company. You'll own the customer from first contact until you qualify the deal and hand it off. If you are motivated and results-driven, and enjoy working in a team environment, we'd like to meet you. Ultimately, you will boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience cold calling leads and managing against some sales quotas.
Responsibilities
- Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
- Enhancing our potential client contact lists through industry association lists, and online data searches
- Contact potential clients through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, etc.
- Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
- Present company offerings at a high level to potential clients
- Consistent documentation of conversations with prospective customers - Why are they qualified? Why are they not qualified?
- Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
- Engage Account Executives for next steps, providing detailed information for the rep and a smooth transition for the customer
- Continue to follow-up with prospects until qualification is complete
- Report to the Business Development Manager on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
Requirements
- 2-5yrs of Sales Account Executive , Business Development Representative or similar role
- Previous experience with cold calling from a provided list of accounts
- Experience with contacting potential clients through LinkedIn outreach and excellent ability to follow-up with prospects/keep track of leads
- Must have excellent phone skills and articulate well
- Experience with putting information into a CRM software - Salesforce or similar systems that involve tracking information
- Understanding of sales performance metrics and meeting goals
- Comfortable with cleaning up data in the CRM - removing client and adding new clients
- Ability to handle rejection and willing to lean in and hustle
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
- Can self-manager and is a self-starter
- Familiarity with Google Spreadsheets
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations
