We are looking for a Medical Copywriter who will produce creative medical content to help sell medical products or services. You should be able to deep dive into the heavy science behind a medicine, understand it, and rewrite about it in a more creative way that consumers can understand and relate to.

Position Overview:

As a Medical Copywriter, you will play a critical role in crafting persuasive and engaging copy for various marketing materials, including digital content, sales brochures, product websites, and educational materials. You will collaborate closely with our creative team, account managers, and designers to ensure that all copy aligns with the clients' brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Your expertise in medical terminology, scientific understanding, and strong writing skills will be key to developing clear and concise content that effectively communicates complex healthcare information to both healthcare professionals and consumers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and create compelling, accurate, and engaging copy for pharmaceutical marketing materials, adhering to clients' brand guidelines and industry regulations.
• Researching and analyzing medical data from reliable/high-authority sources, extracting the relevant information, and writing content that is coherent, on-brief and on brand.
• Conduct thorough research on medical topics, disease states, treatment options, and pharmaceutical products to ensure accurate representation in copy.
• Finding and annotating references to support medical or scientific claims in promotional materials, following very strict guidelines.
• Combining scientific knowledge with excellent writing skills for medical marketing campaigns.
• Translate complex scientific and medical information into clear, concise, and accessible language for healthcare professionals and consumers.
• Researching the subject matter to position the product or service as being trustworthy.
• Ensure all copy meets regulatory requirements, such as FDA guidelines, and complies with relevant industry standards.
• Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, grammar, and adherence to brand tone and style.
• Writing in an interesting way to prompt the reader to take action.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Communications, Journalism, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. Advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MD) is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Medical Copywriter, preferably in an advertising agency or healthcare communications agency, with a strong portfolio of work.
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical products, disease states, and treatment options.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations, promotional guidelines, and compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Certification by the American Medical Writer’s Association (AMWA) is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional proofreading and editing skills.
• Knowledge of SEO and keyword research.
• The ability to analyze data, extract salient information, and present it in a fresh way.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team, receptive to feedback, and adaptable to changing project requirements.

Language skills:

• English (fluent)
• Other languages would be an advantage.
