As the Social Media Management Intern, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the growth and success of Strands and The Hair Lab, focusing on all key aspects of social media marketing to help achieve brand objectives. This position will interact with all levels and departments and report to the Director of Marketing. It’s a small, collaborative team, so the ideal hire is proactive and very hands-on.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the creation of organic social content and manage social media accounts, including monitoring and responding to all social media comments and direct messages in a timely manner.
Participate in the planning and execution of social media campaigns across channels, including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.
Help manage Brand Ambassador and influencer marketing programs, including identifying influencers, outreach, management, performance audit, and UGC content collection.
Collect and report social listening data and product reviews to the Marketing team, offering insights based on findings, including new product development recommendations and advertising approaches.
Conduct ongoing analysis of new trends, competitor brands, new and competing products, and the social media landscape.
Assist with building marketing calendars, developing creative briefs, and managing timelines.
Support reporting on social media campaigns.
Take part in internal creative meetings and photo & video shoots.
Assist with the creation of product education materials and refinement of target audience.
Provide administrative support for social media and marketing initiatives, such as filing marketing assets from internal creative shoots or provided by agencies.
Requirements:
Experience with social media marketing, including organic and paid social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
A high level of organization with excellent attention to detail.
Creative and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Can-do attitude. Willingness to learn and try new things.
Ability to keep projects on track and on time.
Proactive with an ability to be both independent and a team player.
Proficiency in Canva, Photoshop, and other design tools is a plus.
