The Big Idea: CBI Seeks a Graphic Designer - LOCATED NEAR DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA

One of our strategic communications goals is to strengthen the CBI brand and expertise, as well as to increase engagement as the known global source for advanced lead battery research, market data, and innovation.

As part of this goal, CBI requires eye-catching, edgy, modern, standout pieces from print through online that are anything BUT corporate. These pieces will be stand-out items from the rest of the industry. Our logo is not changing, however, we need an entirely new look and feel for our creative from print to online.

The selected designer will help us move forward with exciting, new creative templates for PowerPoint presentations, a variety of fact sheets/briefs/reports/infographics, social media, video, plus a new website.

We need a designer who is up to the challenge to:

• Create eye-catching visuals that are anything but corporate.
• Create imagery and new brand guidelines.
• Create exceptional design work for a brand redesign of social media templates, PowerPoint presentation templates, fact sheets (including related 1-2 pagers for online and print), investor packs, e-newsletter template, video templates, banners, and a trade show booth.
• Carry that new design into a new website.... and possibly more in the future!

The Consortium for Battery Innovation (CBI) needs a contract designer for a rebrand who brings strong attention to detail.

This is a Part-Time, Contract/ Support role open to a candidate who is local to Durham, NC. This position is 30 hours per week for 6 months, and has an opportunity for contract renewal or a possible full-time opportunity. (There will be exciting, ongoing projects for a well-rounded designer, who is the right fit!)

Responsibilities:

• Create imagery and new brand guidelines.
• Create exceptional design work for a brand redesign of social media templates, PowerPoint presentation templates, fact sheets, investor packs, e-newsletter, video templates, banners, and a trade show booth.
• Carry that new design into a new website.
• Create eye-catching visuals that are anything but corporate.
• Work closely with the Sr. Communications Manager to deliver on time and on schedule.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience related to advertising, marketing, and communications.
• Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders from all backgrounds.
• Portfolio is required of graphic design work.
• Print production experience.
• Video production experience.
• Drone knowledge, and photography a plus.
• Must be local to the Durham, North Carolina area as some occasional onsite visits may be required.
• Must be able to commit 30 hours/week.

Compensation:

This is an hourly, contract rate (without benefits) that will be commensurate with education and experience.
