The National Account Manager (NAM) will build a portfolio of high growth, quality key account businesses in the assigned geography. This person will have HQ responsibility for Loblaws Companies Limited and Metro Inc. HQ customers. The ideal candidate has detailed knowledge, as well as a history of success managing and growing businesses with customers in the traditional grocery and natural grocery channels. Having sales experience with Loblaws Company Limited and/or other large Grocery and Mass accounts in Canada is a plus but not required for this role. The NAM will have an aptitude for building highly productive business relationships with retailers through excellent written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate should be both analytical and engaging. Storytelling and critical listening skills are a must-have. Responsibilities include playing a primary role in tailoring strategy and programs for the assigned customers. The candidate must be effective in building and selling these programs to local decision-makers. The role will require the creation and management of account budgets that focus on KPIs including price, promotion execution, and quality distribution. The role requires the ability to create win-win business solutions that resonate with the retailer and the consumer. Additionally, the NAM should have the ability to build customer facing PowerPoint presentations with the help of the Category Development Team. Under normal operations, this position operates in a home office environment for 60% of the time. This role has travel requirements of up to 40% with the focus on this travel to be the attending of customer HQ appointments and a few Trade Shows.
