Description

The Lead User Interface Designer leads the team that designs web page layout and online content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new product release and new web-hosted product offering. Performs development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications. Performs web usability testing. Partners with Web Administrator to implement pages or applications into production. Assures site technical performance. Develops, assesses and communicates website usage and security policies and standards. Provides technical assistance to Site Administrators. May assist in the planning of overall company strategy involving Internet usage. May make hardware and/or software purchasing recommendations or decisions regarding web development. May perform overall administration of sites at a company-wide level.

Responsibilities

The Lead User Interface Designer advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Key Accountabilities

  • 40% - Leads the team that designs web page layouts and online content, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes, content and infrastructure for new product release and new web-hosted product offerings. Also leads the team that performs development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications and performs web usability testing
  • 30% - Prioritize and plan the execution of work for the teams that perform development and maintenance programming for web pages and web applications and designs web page layout and online content Leads web usability testing. Partners with Web Administrator to implement pages or applications into production. Assures site technical performance
  • 20% - Perform overall administration of sites at a company-wide level. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance
  • 10% - Provides technical assistance to Site Administrators

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 or more years of formal leadership experience (Ideally looking current/recent leadership experience in Change Management and/or Transformation leadership)
  • 5 or more of Interface experience as a User Designer, Interaction Designer, Information Architect, or User Experience Designer/Architect
  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically create compelling user experiences that factor in business goals, development capabilities, design standards and user needs
  • Strong understanding of interaction design principles and current global UI/design pattern standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and influence stakeholders to determine business strategy in the digital arena, develop and execute big ideas while maintaining collaborative working relationships
  • Experience designing with business, technical and design guideline constraints
  • Demonstrated experience in defining research criteria, leading or participating in user research and translating user research into design decisions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Proficient to include MS Access
  • Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position
  • Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (eQIP - Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing)
Work At Home/Remote Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient knowledge and/or experience with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of and/or working experience with Content Management System (CMS)
  • Prior experience with Agile development process in story writing
  • Experience in an Agile environment
  • Ability to work with project stakeholders and remote teams at all levels in the organization in a collaborative, team environment
  • Experience with .Net back-end development practices, methodologies and technologies
  • Prior experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in TRICARE or other federally regulated healthcare programs

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone or computer to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews
