Customer data is the fuel that drives all modern businesses. From product analytics, to marketing, to support, to advertising, advanced data analysis in the warehouse, and even sales – customer data is the raw material for each function at a modern business.
For highly regulated businesses in healthcare, it’s always been a challenge to harness that customer data and get it to the marketing and analytics tools that require it while following patient privacy laws….until now.
Something as simple as running ads to get more users is simple for an e-commerce of software company to do. But common web analytics and advertising tools collect sensitive user identifiers and healthcare information automatically. Those same tools are not HIPAA compliant.
We provide a layer of data governance to make current web analytics tools HIPAA-compliant. For analytics, our customers can continue getting the insights they need to improve the patient experience. For marketing, Freshpaint safeguards health information while helping our customers promote access to care through popular advertising platforms like Facebook, Google, and others.
In short, we help healthcare marketers promote access to care and safeguard patient privacy at the same time. This is an important, complex problem in a massive market (healthcare is 20% of the US GDP).
Our customers manage their customer data with two offerings:
- Privacy Platform. We help healthcare providers automate their website’s + app’s HIPAA compliance, and safeguard first-party customer data across their tech stack.
- Data Activation Platform. We make it really easy for teams to activate customer data using their preferred analytics, data, and marketing tools.

In this role you will:
- Own the full-cycle recruiting process at Freshpaint from start to finish. This means:
- Collaborate with the CEO and functional leaders across the organization to identify hiring needs
- Define a persona suitable for the new position. Create interview loops and candidate scorecards with hiring managers
- Create and manage our open job postings
- Review incoming applications, identifying promising candidates from a large pool of applicants
- Source candidates through outbound channels
- Run phone screens, pitch Freshpaint better than anyone else can, and assess if a hire could be a good fit (experience- and culture-wise)
- Schedule interviews with other members of the hiring team
- Make sure the recruiting process moves forward. Identify, flag and solve any bottlenecks
- Be responsible for sourcing and developing candidate pipelines on your own. If you’re gonna come in and spend money on recruiting agencies…well, we can do that without hiring you :)

- 3+ years of tech recruiting experience at a tech startup sourcing and developing candidate pipelines.
- Track record of success: you’ve consistently delivered on challenging roles such as hiring software engineers and tricky go-to-market hires
- You have experience recruiting technical roles (software engineers)
- Experience managing an Applicant Tracking System like Ashby, Lever, Greenhouse, or similar. We use Ashby at Freshpaint.
- You are a highly empathetic individual and can understand motivations of a person sitting across from you (or on Zoom)
- You ask great questions
- You get things done – fast. You learn fast and are able to get up to speed quickly on new tools and technologies. You take ownership and solve problems when you see them.
- No job is too big or too small for you. You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Based in the US
- You worked in-house in Human Resources, People, or similar roles at another technology company
- Knowledge of US tech startup landscape
- You’ve been involved in hiring employees for various departments (engineering, marketing, sales, etc.)
- You thrive in ambiguity. You’ve been an early employee at a similarly early stage startup and you know what it’s like (you’ll be employee #40ish at Freshpaint)
- Joining a high-growth venture-backed startup as part of the early crew. You will be employee #40-50 ish.
