1. GENERAL BACKGROUND
About the Toilet Board Coalition -
Founded in 2015, the Toilet Board Coalition accelerates business solutions to the global sanitation crisis. The Coalition facilitates vital partnerships between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), corporates, NGOs, investors, and governments who share a commitment to achieve access to sanitation and hygiene for all by 2030 (SDG 6.2).
Through its world-renowned Accelerator, the Coalition provides business model design, corporate mentorship, and access to investment to Sanitation Economy entrepreneurs serving low-income markets. In its ninth year now, the programme has supported 70 companies across 25 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Toilet Board Coalition has supported 33 Acceleratees in Asia over eight years and is supporting 6 more Asia Acceleratees in 2024. The Toilet Board is looking for an individual to support the continued implementation of our Accelerator in Asia.
The scope includes delivering our Accelerator curriculum to entrepreneurs via weekly video calls, organizing webinars for entrepreneurs, helping entrepreneurs connect with other relevant organizations and government stakeholders in the sanitation sector, helping entrepreneurs raise funding, and sourcing Accelerator applications from new entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate is one who is hands-on and passionate about collaborating with entrepreneurs, and in further strengthening the sanitation business ecosystem in Asia.
Scope & Outputs
Accelerator Programme delivery
o Help deliver the Accelerator Programme to entrepreneurs in Asia
o Work closely with entrepreneurs and keep them aligned with the curriculum milestones
Partner engagement
o Engage with local partners, and government bodies, in India, with an aim to secure partnerships for entrepreneurs in the Accelerator
o Connect and nurture the sanitation ecosystem in the region and represent the organization in events and activities
Regional Pipeline Development
o Scope and develop pipeline partnerships to source more applications from entrepreneurs for the Accelerator.
o Help evaluate and shortlist entrepreneurs for the Accelerator from among the applicant pool and assist in the selection process.
o Prepare relevant documentation: pipeline analysis and presentations.
Support Accelerator Portfolio
o Organize professional development webinars for entrepreneurs, aligned with Programme structure
o Organize community-building activities within the Accelerator portfolio
o Assist and support portfolio companies in market research, preparing effective presentations
Support in the overall project coordination and reporting of this project with regional partners.
3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· 3-5 years’ experience as an Accelerator or Incubator Manager in a Programme with proven record, or equivalent relevant experience (business models, financial modeling, ecosystem building, project management).
· Familiarity with water and sanitation sector will be preferred.
· Masters preferred or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
· Fluency in written and spoken English.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions.
· Financial modeling skills
· Microsoft Office software and expert user of MS Excel
· Project management experience and strong relational skills.
· Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries.
· Strong client service orientation with an openness to feedback and innovative ideas.
· Excellent presentation skills for spokesperson and public relations.
· The role is fully remote, but the position must be based in India
