What We Need
We are looking for an experienced Senior Safety Systems Architect, with a rich background in machinery and functional safety, to join our pioneering product/solution safety team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our warehousing automation solutions. You will be focused on designing and implementing safety systems compliant with various international standards like IEC 61508 and ISO 13849-1.

What You’ll Do
Safety System Design and Implementation:
- Lead the development, design, and verification and creation of plans and policies of safety systems for our warehousing automation solutions, ensuring compliance with IEC 61508, ISO 13849-1, ISO 10218-2, and other relevant IEC/UL safety standards. Applies new concepts to continuously improve system safety throughout product lifecycle.
- Conduct comprehensive machinery safety risk assessments, PUWER assessments, safety concepts, and safety design checks.
- Ensure robot safety settings to ensure the secure operation of automated warehousing systems
Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate safety systems into automated warehousing solutions.
- Manage safety-centric projects aimed at enhancing the safety and productivity of warehousing operations.
- Conduct regular assessments, compile documentation, present results, build roadmap to incorporate changes from results and execute on it.
- Establish procedures for investigating allegations of non-compliance
Team Leadership and Client Support:
- Mentor and lead a team of safety engineers, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Engage with customers and industry partners to promote machine safety and functional safety awareness in the warehousing automation sector.
Industry Engagement
- Represent the company in relevant safety committees, working groups, and industry forums, sharing insights and staying abreast of emerging safety standards and technologies.
- Cultivate relationships with industry stakeholders to advance the company's mission of achieving unparalleled safety and efficiency in warehousing automation.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver machine Functional Safety training to internal teams and clients.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in safety standards and technologies and disseminate this knowledge within the organization.
What You’ll Need
- Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) certification from TUV Nord (mandatory).
- Functional Safety Practitioner (FSP) certification or similar (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in machinery safety, functional safety, and robotic systems, preferably within a warehousing automation environment.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and safety analysis tools.
- Strong leadership, team management, and client engagement skills.
- Be a strong technical contributor - able to build consensus among a diverse engineering group.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Master’s Degree is nice to have.
- Willingness to travel up to 35%.
